2023 has just begun and once again our social feeds are filled with reflections and lessons from the year that was and hopes and resolutions for the year that will be.
Now, as heartfelt and inspiring as all these are, it’s important that we’re able to ground ourselves in all that we’ve learned last 2022 and create more effective ways for us to live out all the commitments we made for ourselves and others this new year. Having such personal action plans or systems (however you want to call them) will help us achieve all that we set out to do and enable us to grow more so into the people we want to become.
But, if you, like many others in the world, continue to struggle to keep yourself disciplined and accountable even after creating such plans and systems, then it may be time for you to try and find yourself an Accountability Partner.
You may be wondering:
Who is that exactly?
What do they do?
And, where can one find one?
Well, we’ll be answering all these questions in this blog post of ours.
Who is an Accountability Partner?
An Accountability Partner is a person in your life that can help you stay motivated and on track. They are able to plan with you as needed and remind you of the goals you set and why you set them in the first place when you seem to forget. This can be a family member, a longtime friend, a work colleague or even a professional you pay who you trust and look up to for inspiration, feedback and advice.
What does an Accountability Partner do?
At the heart of the matter, an Accountability Partner helps you as you need them to so you can achieve your goals. They keep regular tabs on you to check and ensure your progress, give you props for both the big and small wins you experience and comfort you when things don’t go your way. And, as you may already know by now, things don’t always do. But, an Accountability Partner can also help you pivot in these times and see things in a different light.
Where can one find an Accountability Partner?
More often than not, they’re already in our lives. As previously mentioned, an Accountability Partner can be a family member, a longtime friend, a work colleague or a professional you pay. But, in addition to these, you can also find a [rather specialized] Accountability Partner right here at Goodwill Vows. Our Vow Curators serve as Accountability Partners to those who make vows through the Goodwill Vows platform. They, like actual Accountability Partners, guide those who pledge through the process of supporting different causes and check in on them throughout.
If one of your new year’s resolutions this year is to give more or to donate to a charity, then you can count on your Accountability Partners here at Goodwill Vows to help you see this through. Find out how you can actually do more for your chosen beneficiary organization(s) this 2023 by checking out https://goodwill.unitedpeople.global/about/how-it-works/.
