On ‘World Creativity and Innovation Day’ (WCID), we are invited to celebrate something so powerful, yet undermined at the same time, a gift inside all of us, of that which is called ‘human imagination’. We are encouraged to foster creative multidisciplinary thinking at the individual and group levels, shining the light on the importance of creativity and innovation in problem solving, using “the true wealth of nations in the 21st century” to advance the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals.

This day is more than just a nod to artistic expression or inventive breakthroughs. It reminds us, every person, of our capacity to change the world if we embrace fresh ideas, bold thinking, and experimental sides inside us.

MINDSET IS THE KEY

Our mindset determines how we create, adapt, maintain, evolve, and thrive. Whether tackling the climate crisis, reimagining education, solving systemic inequalities, or developing sustainable technologies, creativity and innovation are always the key, the very necessities that we must foster and develop.

Creativity isn’t just about art, it’s problem-solving with passion, vision, and flair. It’s asking “what if?” and daring to explore the answer. Innovation is also not just about tech, either. It happens in your everyday life, in classrooms, homes, studios, communities, offices, new business models, creative policy changes, cultural shifts, and even within everyday problem-solving. It’s about adopting a novel, out-of-the-box approach, both in mindset and practice, that makes life better, fairer, or more meaningful.

CALLING THAT NOVELTY INSIDE ALL OF US

World Creativity and Innovation Day is a call to action, inviting us to nurture curiosity, support original thinkers, and remind ourselves that change begins with an idea. Your next creative thought not only improves your own life but also someone else’s.

Creativity paired with intention, passion, and support can lead to powerful breakthroughs.

We can even begin by investing in it.

Through supporting and funding creative solutions in underserved communities, we planted seeds of innovation projects led by young changemakers, and contributed to bringing life to ideas that have the power to make a difference.

By making a Goodwill Vow, we help:

  1. Fund sustainable, community-driven innovation projects
  2. Provide resources to creative entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators
  3. Support educational programs in design thinking and creative problem-solving
  4. Promote inclusive access to the tools of innovation, especially for marginalized voices

Your Goodwill Vow fuels the solution for a better future.

So what are you waiting for?

Let’s make your Goodwill Vow and move our ideas forward!

No amount is too small. Every contribution plants a seed of change. Let today be the spark.
